Every day 889 people in the UK are told they have cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support believe that no one should face cancer alone. We provide medical, financial, practical and emotional support to people throughout their cancer journey.
In Hastings, we benefit from many Macmillan healthcare professionals including palliative care nurses, clinical nurse specialists, speech and language therapists and dieticians. Macmillan Cancer support is also there for local people affected by cancer through the provision of financial grants, the guidance from welfare rights advisors, and support for those caring for people affected by cancer.
In 2010 Macmillan Cancer Support launched a £3.7m capital appeal to build a state of the art information and support centre in Sussex. To be completed by Autumn 2014, this centre will provide the 50,000 people living with cancer in Sussex with cancer information, counselling, complementary therapies, welfare and benefits advice, dietary guidance, and skincare and wig-making expertise at the time they most need it.
Our aim to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer and inspire millions of others to do the same. Thank you for your generous support today. Please do visit www.macmillan.org.uk or call our fundraising team on 0300 1000 200 to find out how else you can get involved and make a real difference.
Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. And the feelings of isolation and loneliness that so many people experience make it even harder. But you don’t have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team is with you every step of the way.
