IN SUSSEX
780 people in the UK are told everyday that they have cancer. Macmillan is here to help them receive the practical, financial, medical and emotional support they need during their cancer journey. In Hastings,
Macmillan has
a team of 16 professionals working in and around the town to support
people
with cancer. Most of them work at the Conquest Hospital, but the
community
team also work in the surrounding area helping people in their own
homes. There are 40,000
people living with cancer in Sussex, yet many have little or no
information about their illness or treatment options at the time when
they most need it. Macmillan has a £3.7million appeal to build an
information and support centre in Brighton which will offer specialist
information, welfare advice, counselling, complementary therapies, a
hair and wig service, dietary advice and self-help and support groups.
Patients from across Sussex will be able to visit at any time and find
the support they need. We aim to reach and improve the lives of
everyone affected by cancer. Together with your help we will continue
to make a real difference. To get involved please visit www.macmillan.org.uk/east sussex or call the Sussex fundraising team on 01273 746601. |
